We partnered with our favorite small leather goods maker Hollows Leather to produce a new, scaled down Bifold wallet. To reduce the bulk of a classic Bifold, we slimmed ours down to a few essential features: two card slots and a single, full sized bill slot. The Archival Bifold is completely hand stitched with wax thread and the edges are beveled and burnished with beeswax. It comes finished with a wrap of red waxed thread and a discrete AC logo.
Hollows is producing the Archival Bifold in two different Horween leather colors – a natural Chromexcel and a vegetable tan leather. Hollows fondly refers to the Natural Chromexcel as a “mellow and desaturated” medium brown. Vegetable Tan starts out very light but will darken over time as it comes in contact with sun, oils, dirt and indigo. Here are some production shots of the wallet under construction:
Our Archival Leather Tray is handmade for us by exemplary craftsman, Nicholas Hollows of Hollows Leather. The tray is ideal for stashing all your daily pocket carries. It also works perfectly as a game piece catcher on your kitchen table. We’re using ours right now to keep track of Yahtzee dice. Cut from belt weight leather and twice-riveted on each corner with solid brass hardware. Here is the perfect gift for grads or pops or pals. It also makes a great GIF. We are fully stocked with best quality leather goods from our friend Nicholas Hollows of Minneapolis based, Hollows Leather. We love Hollows leather goods for their simple, sturdy designs. All products are handmade from our favorite Archival materials: American tanned leather, solid brass hardware and waxed thread. See our web shop for recent arrives including our Key Chain, Leather Cuff, Leather Belt and Flap Wallet.
Our new Archival Key Chain is simple and sturdy, made with our favorite materials, leather and brass, for long, durable use. The brass stud and leather closure attaches the key chain easily to your belt or your bag. The brass hardware allows you to unclip your keys easily from the rest for quick access.

Our newest collaboration with Hollows Leather, based in Minneapolis, is our Archival Leather Belt in waxed harness leather. Like all of the products out of Nick’s workshop, this belt is stylish, durable and built to endure. This one is made from 11 oz russet harness from Wickett & Craig in Pennsylvania, abrasion-resistant waxed nylon and a raw-brass Japanese double garrison buckle. Heavily waxed harness leather works great for belts because it holds up well to the elements, needs infrequent care and is both thick and flexible. The edges on Nick’s belts are beveled and finished with beeswax. It should last you a lifetime. For more details or to place an order, visit our Archival Web Shop.

Here a few of my favorite selections from the Fall Archival line. We’re now offering the Archival Rolltop in waxed twill (the perfect fabric for the damp) while reintroducing our Flap Musette in a lighter weight, carmine red canvas duck (a visual refusal of the gloom). Small scale accessories for the season include waxed canvas trail caps, cotton jersey scarves and austere yet snappy leather cuffs by AC friend Nick Hollows.
