I’ve been spending the last few days browsing photographs by Max Dupain and Olive Cotton from the Library of New South Wales (via flickr Commons photostream). My favorite set comes from an album documenting summer outings to Culberra beach, Australia, during the summer of 1937. One could not art direct a better vision of camping w/ stylish ladies and gents milling about a beachside campsite worthy of a RRL ad campaign. Take a look…
We just placed our Archival Tees for women on special in our Odds and Ends section. Limited sizes in each colorway. All sales final.
These tees are made from the same high quality US-made fabric, with the same popular features as our men’s tees:
Sturdy and soft 7 oz. cotton jersey
Chain-stitched jersey neck tape
Cover-stitched collar and sleeve seams
Double needle sewn hems
We’ve added two details on our women’s model: reinforced 2″ side vents for freedom of movement and a proportional neckline using narrow rib trim.
Our tees are built to withstand the rigors of daily use and regular washing without stretching or developing the small pin holes typical of lighter weight garments. These tees will last season to season, maintaining their color, their shape and their quality.
We’ve just published our June newsletter which includes product news, updates and a special coupon code for the summer edition of our Archival Bucket Hat. Look for our July edition which will feature preview snaps from our upcoming lookbook shot by favorite Archival photographer, Nathan Micahael.
Here is our Archival guide to enduring Father’s Day and Graduation gifts. Our advice is to give simple, well made gifts that will improve with use. We also endorse shopping for yourself as a reward for making it to summer.
Small leather goods are an easy, go to gift with a great story. We offer leather trays, key chains and leather cuffs from the Minneapolis workshop of Nicholas Hollows. We also have a restock of our popular Archival Flap Wallet for international travel.
Archival sells a wide range of bags. For summer, we recommend our new Archival Rolltop Messenger which doubles as a work brief and casual bag. Pack it with a laptop for your morning commute or carry it out on a weekend canoe paddle. Even though folks dress down for the summer don’t forget to add a formal layering piece or smart accessory like the Archival Bucket Hat,linen/cotton kerchief or a harness leather belt. Our Archival Day Pack is now available in our heavier weight 18 oz canvas duck. Inspired by climbing packs from the 1970s, our Day Pack is a compact and convenient bag for everyday use in the city, at the University or on the trail. Designed for lighter loads, it’s smaller and more compact than our Rucksack or Rolltop. For more information, visit the Archival Web Shop.
