Our classic Archival Sweatshirt for women is now available in black and gray in sizes from XS to L. Just like our version for gents, the Archival Sweatshirt for women is made of a stout 8-9 oz cotton loop-back French Terry with a rib V insert at the neck. Made in Oregon by a great partner who has been making sturdy cotton garments since 1921.

Our customers have loved our waxed down vest so much that they asked us to create a version with sleeves. Partnering with Crescent Down Works in Seattle, we made a supremely durable and handsome waxed down jacket that’s great for a crisp urban commute or a chilly duck blind. Starting with CDW’s classic Italian Vest pattern, we added sleeves and some uniquely Archival features including a waxed cotton/nylon shell, worsted wool knit collar and brass snaps reinforced with leather washers, just like our bags. This jacket is perfect for both wet and chilly weather – providing rain protection while keeping you warm in freezing temperatures. Jackets are available in the colors navy and black.
The Steele Canvas Tote is perfect for your large capacity toting needs. We use them regularly for toting lightweight, bulkier items around the house and away. Steele Canvas Totes are constructed from stout #4 natural canvas duck, un-dyed to ensure maximum fabric strength. Stiff edges and a boxed bottom enable the tote to stand upright and open for easy loading and unloading. Two reinforced 5″ handles. Our version of the Tall Tote features The Steele Basket original stencil which was recreated for Archival from archival illustrations. We also added a U.S. stencil on back to identify the bag’s manufacturing origin. To order, visit the AC Web shop.

We partnered with our favorite small leather goods maker Hollows Leather to produce a new, scaled down Bifold wallet. To reduce the bulk of a classic Bifold, we slimmed ours down to a few essential features: two card slots and a single, full sized bill slot. The Archival Bifold is completely hand stitched with wax thread and the edges are beveled and burnished with beeswax. It comes finished with a wrap of red waxed thread and a discrete AC logo.
Hollows is producing the Archival Bifold in two different Horween leather colors – a natural Chromexcel and a vegetable tan leather. Hollows fondly refers to the Natural Chromexcel as a “mellow and desaturated” medium brown. Vegetable Tan starts out very light but will darken over time as it comes in contact with sun, oils, dirt and indigo. Here are some production shots of the wallet under construction:
We just placed our Archival Tees for women on special in our Odds and Ends section. Limited sizes in each colorway. All sales final.
These tees are made from the same high quality US-made fabric, with the same popular features as our men’s tees:
Sturdy and soft 7 oz. cotton jersey
Chain-stitched jersey neck tape
Cover-stitched collar and sleeve seams
Double needle sewn hems
We’ve added two details on our women’s model: reinforced 2″ side vents for freedom of movement and a proportional neckline using narrow rib trim.
Our tees are built to withstand the rigors of daily use and regular washing without stretching or developing the small pin holes typical of lighter weight garments. These tees will last season to season, maintaining their color, their shape and their quality.
We’ve just published our June newsletter which includes product news, updates and a special coupon code for the summer edition of our Archival Bucket Hat. To join our mailing list send an email to email@example.com. Look for our July edition which will feature preview snaps from our upcoming lookbook shot by favorite Archival photographer, Nathan Micahael.
Our Archival Day Pack is now available in our heavier weight 18 oz canvas duck. Inspired by climbing packs from the 1970s, our Day Pack is a compact and convenient bag for everyday use in the city, at the University or on the trail. Designed for lighter loads, it’s smaller and more compact than our Rucksack or Rolltop. For more information, visit the Archival Web Shop.
