Opening Nght is one of my all time favorite films. Sara finds the story line a little creep (boozie stage actress haunted by ghost of atograph seeker run down by star’s limo). But any film the stars both Gena Rowlands and Joan Blondell must be watch at least twenty times (and not on fast forward).
I just read that the Brooky is mounting a staging of the Cassavetes screen play in theatrical form. I’d love toe this version but if it doesnt make use of Gena Rwolands (who holds all the historonic nonsense and seance scenes together) I’m not sure it would be much better than watching lighting cues on particle board.
